If you arrived on my website, that means that you are going to join one of the Transylvania Outdoor activities. Transylvania, with its name coming from Latin – ultra silvam (beyond the forest), is one of the most interesting and surprising regions of Romania. Its German, Hungarian and Romanian cultural traditions play a great role in its cultural and ethnic diversity. The Transylvanian plateau is surrounded by mountain peaks (Carpathian Mountains) and drained by sparkling rivers which makes it both a pleasant place for a relaxing holiday with a landscape pleasing to the eye and an exciting place for adventure-seeking travelers.
My goal is to offer you exceptional guided tours in Romania (Transylvania and Carpathians Mountains) that will allow you to experience your destination in an unique way.
ALL TRANSYLVANIA OUTDOOR TOURS ARE CUSTOMIZABLE AND CAN BE TAILORED IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR REQUESTS.
My philosophy is to replace the word “clients” with “friends” and to involve you in all stages of the tour (planning, preparation, progress).
Here, at Transylvania Outdoor, we’ll plan together, step by step, the best holiday for you: we’ll mix properly mountain days with sightseeing days that will allow you exploring the deepest hidden secrets of central and south-eastern Transilvania.
This region is a place with abundant history and multicultural convergence and rich in myth and misty medieval sites: there about 100 castles and fortresses and about 70 fortified churches (for sure, the greatest and best preserved castles and fortresses from Romania are to be found here). But for the more curious traveler, there are many small villages with old houses, barns and picturesque landscapes. As Transylvania is circled by the Carpathian mountains there are a lot of mountain forests and hiking or climbing possibilities.
During the medieval times, the rapid expansion of cities populated by the Saxons led to Transylvania being known in German as Siebenbürgen and Septem Castra in Latin, referring to seven of the fortified towns, presumably: Bistritz (Bistrița), Hermannstadt (Sibiu), Sächsisch Regen (Reghin), Kronstadt (Brașov), Mediasch (Mediaș), Mühlbach (Sebeș) and Schässburg (Sighișoara). My city tours are focused to the old medieval Saxon citadels of Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara.
Traveling into the rural area, we won’t miss visiting the villages with fortified churches from Transylvania. With its more than 150 well preserved fortified churches of a great variety of architectural styles (out of an original 300 fortified churches), south-eastern Transylvania currently has one of the highest numbers of existing fortified churches from the 13th to 16th centuries. Seven of them are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Biertan, Calnic, Prejmer, Viscri, Darjiu, Saschiz and Valea Viilor.
Tara Fagarasului, guarded by Fagaras Mountains, the highest Romanian mountains, and Vama Buzaului area are other places that will leave you breathless if you make your decision to spend some of your time over here.
During all my tours you will have permanently in the background professional advices and maximum care.
